This blog is primarily about using music, sound-play and movement-based
education to help kids build a positive relationship with nature and the
environment.
I personally find the scare-story side of environmentalism too destructive to the young developing mind to be of any use whatsoever. Educating children about the benefits of treading lightly upon the earth and enjoying nature's abundance should be fun, fun and fun.

So, I go into schools and festivals and just about anywhere I am booked to do songs, sound-play and music activities to promote eco-awareness with lots of fun and noise.

I am Craig Trafford - Also known as the Fun MusicMan. One of my school tours is my interactive Eco Music for Eco Kids show. I've been performing and presenting workshops since 1982 and been an Education-through-Music specialist since 1993. After workng with a Friends of the Earth local group in Ireland and helping to host the Native American Sacred Run there, my appreciation of nature and the environment blossomed. There are far too many environmentally-themed scare stories out there at the moment, some may be true but many are not.  I believe it is essential that children learn to develop a positive relationship with nature and the environment. Music, along with movement-based learning as found in Educational Kinesiology (I'm a Consultant) is a great way to learn about this wonderful planet and beyond.
